U.S. News & World Report rates Westside Terrace as a top nursing home

DOTHAN, Alabama – In an evaluation of more than 15,000 of the nation’s nursing homes, U.S. News & World Report has recognized Westside Terrace Healthcare as a “high performing” long-term care facility. Nationwide, 1,139 facilities received this rating in the publication’s 2019-2020 Best Nursing Homes feature. In Alabama, there were 10 facilities rated for top long-term care. Westside Terrace Healthcare is the only facility in Dothan that was recognized.

“This is a testament to our incredible team of professionals. They do an amazing job of ensuring we provide a healthy environment and superior care for our residents,” said Westside Terrace administrator, Kristie Hughes.

U.S. News has been publishing online ratings of nursing homes since 2009. The ranking method is based on information supplied by Nursing Home Compare, a website supported by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services. This federal agency establishes and enforces the standards for skilled nursing facilities. Periodically, CMS evaluates the homes in three areas: state-conducted health inspections, nurse staffing and medical quality measures. Westside Terrace currently holds a five-star rating on the website.
